STORY TIME

💌 where I disappeared to (and why I'm back)

I started this newsletter and grew to thousands of readers over time.

(Shoutout to my mom for being subscriber #1.)

But here's what I won't sugarcoat: I started writing about AI in marketing because I thought that's what made me interesting.

People reached out. Panel invites came in. It felt like momentum.

Until it didn't.

I was typing until 3am while juggling clients, consuming endless AI video content as escapism, with zero bandwidth left to actually learn anything.

I thought I was making impact. But I lost my true north somewhere between the hustle and the performance.

Then life happened. I got engaged. Best day of my life, but also a reality check - I was now part of a new family.

This "hobby" had spiraled into a career. Driving all over LA for meetings. Forcing myself to turn the camera on. Nothing was flowing.

So I stopped.

And in that space, everything shifted.

I built my first app. I moved closer to family. I got married and changed my name. I entered my 30s.

So why am I back? Because in a world drowning in AI slop, authentic voices matter more than ever.

This isn't a "how to write" blog. This is a place of arrival.

I've made mistakes. I'm going to talk about them openly. You might learn something there.

But mostly? I've realized I've learned so much. And I'm not stopping.

I work in VC now, meeting incredible founders daily. I use AI constantly. This is momentum.

I'll share my stories, my observations, my videos. A different POV on what's worth your attention.

My goal? By being radically authentic here, my hope is that it would spark the same in you.

You'll be a better coworker. You'll write better prompts. You'll build better systems to solve problems.

That's it.

Welcome back. Or welcome for the first time.

Let's send it. See you next week, same time, same place.
